How do LifeCall Medical Alert Devices work?

LifeCall personal medical alert devices are simple and easy to use. The LifeCall personal help button is designed to be worn around the home at all times, even in the bath or shower. Customers can rest assured knowing that help is available at the press of a button, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. LifeCall makes independent living easy.

The LifeCall Medical Alert System includes:

  • A two-way voice communicator unit
  • One wireless personal help button that can be worn as a bracelet or pendant or on a belt clip (additional transmitters are available at minimal cost)

What happens when you press the personal help button?

When a LifeCall customer needs help, they simply press their personal help button and our operators take immediate action!

  1. When you need help, simply press your personal help button, and our operators take immediate action. A medical alert signal will instantly be sent to LifeCall’s monitoring centre indicating that help is required. The LifeCall System will announce that it is contacting the monitoring centre.
  2. A specially trained monitoring-centre operator listens in and speaks to you through the two-way voice communicator unit to assess the situation and your need for help quickly.
  3. The operator dispatches appropriate help on your behalf. This may be a neighbour, friend or emergency services such as paramedics, the fire department or police.

Dispatches can be customized so that customers can determine who they want called first in the event of an emergency.
